The English Language Testing Society (ELTSociety) is pleased to announce Professor Frank Giraldo as the recipient of the Promotion of Language Assessment Literacy Award. This prestigious honor recognizes individuals and teams whose work significantly advances understanding and practice in language assessment among educators, stakeholders, and the wider community.

Frank Giraldo is a professor at the Foreign Languages Department of Universidad de Caldas in Manizales, Colombia. His main academic and research interest is the interface between language assessment literacy (LAL) and teachers’ professional development. His work on LAL has been published in Colombian journals and edited volumes. His most recent work on LAL is a co-edited volume with Dr. Xun Yan (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), titled Fostering Language Assessment Literacy: Materials, Methods, and Emerging Issues and published by Routledge.

The ELTSociety commends Professor Frank Giraldo for his outstanding contribution to fostering language assessment literacy and promoting sustainable educational change.
